Mail Day Recap: 25 Aug 2020

My first trade from Canada has been received! When I first signed up for TCDB, I noticed there were some traders up in Canada. For the first few months, I avoided making trades with them because I wasn’t sure if I was going to need to fill out a customs form to mail a simple baseball card.

But then I wasn’t paying attention. I proposed like six or seven trades in a row one night, just because I was in the mood to get some cards. When this trade was accepted, and I saw that this trader is in Quebec, there was some annoyance with myself. But I reached out to my new friend, asked what to do, and he told me the process.

Now I have no problem trading with Canada. It’s easy. All I had to do was go into the post office and tell the postal official the letter was going North. One dollar later, and off it went.

My half of the trade was received today. This was a 5:3 swap, where I provided more Series 2 base cards. In return, I’m knocking two more 2020 Bowman base, and a Then & Now insert from 2020 Heritage. Set progress is below, then the image.

2020 Bowman Base: 17 / 100 cards (17%)

2020 Heritage Then & Now: 11 / 15 cards (73.3%)

That’s it for today. Just one envelope received, but set progress nonetheless. Its time to get these cards put away, and get another trade from a different user packed up and ready to go. This one is a doozy…eleven cards in each direction. That envelope is going to be heavy!

Until tomorrow, keep safe and stay collecting. Or something like that…
